Greening

The Britain in Bloom awards is an annual event recognising the best village, town and city centres int he country.  It involves far more than floral displays with cleanliness and the general environment of the city centre important factors. 

Coventry has won awards for every year of the 2005-2008 BID including national as well as regional accolades, and hosted the national Awards Ceremony in September 2007.

The BID assisted Coventry City Centre's entries from 2005 onwards through the purchase of a hot-jet street cleansing machine and a significant contribution towards the floral displays.

Public awareness of the campaign has been boosted by an intensive media campaign each year including extensive local and regional press coverage and a dedicated website www.coventryinbloom.co.uk.
